The game

Already own Bang!? Here is which expansion to buy next, and which big boxes would give you the base game twice.

A card game by Emiliano Sciarra, published in 2002 by dV Giochi. 4 to 7 players, ages 8+, 20 to 40 minutes. Only the Sheriff shows their role; Deputies protect them, Outlaws want them dead, the Renegade wants to be the last one standing. 12 boxes are listed here: the base game, 8 expansions and 3 collections. Every expansion shuffles into the base game, in any order.

Bang! The Dice Game is not an expansion. Bang! The Dice Game (and its Old Saloon and Undead or Alive expansions), Bang! The Duel, Bang! Dice Explosion, Samurai Sword and Bang! The Walking Dead are different games. They do not mix with the Bang! cards.
The Bullet and The Dynamite Box include the base game. If you already own Bang!, these collections give you a second copy of the base game. The Expansion Pack does not include it.
The old single boxes are hard to find. High Noon, Wild West Show and Valley of Shadows are mostly out of print on their own. The Expansion Pack collects them in one box.

FAQ

Which Bang! expansion after the base game?

Dodge City first: 15 characters, green-bordered cards and the rules for 3 and 8 players. Then the Expansion Pack, which collects High Noon, A Fistful of Cards, Wild West Show and Valley of Shadows. Then Gold Rush, Armed & Dangerous, The Great Train Robbery or Legends, to taste.

Do I need Dodge City to play with 3 or 8?

Yes. The base game plays 4 to 7. Dodge City adds the 8-player setup, with a second Renegade, and a 3-player variant.

What are The Bullet and The Dynamite Box?

Two collections that include the base game. The Bullet holds the base game, Dodge City, High Noon and A Fistful of Cards. The Dynamite Box holds the base game, Dodge City, the four Expansion Pack sets, Armed & Dangerous, Gold Rush and The Great Train Robbery. If you own the base game, either one is a duplicate.

Does the Expansion Pack need the base game?

Yes. It holds four expansions, but not the roles or the base cards.

Is Legends in The Dynamite Box?

No. Legends is sold on its own and needs the base game or a collection that includes it.

Is Bang! The Dice Game an expansion?

No. It is a different game, like Bang! The Duel, Bang! Dice Explosion and Samurai Sword. None of them mix with the Bang! cards.
